NMSP District 1 — Santa Fe

The mission of our office is to enhance the quality of life of those we serve. We approach this endeavor by reaching out to our community and involving them in our enforcement strategies. We have 23 officers, 4 sergeants, one lieutenant and one captain in this district. The district has 7 dispatchers and 1 supervisor. Our office is located on the south side of Santa Fe in the Department of Public Safety complex at 4491 Cerrillos Road.

The prime focus of our enforcement efforts are:

  • Reduce alcohol abuse crimes and accidents.
  • Reduce illegal drug abuse and narcotic related crimes.
  • Reduce violent crime.
  • Ensure safer highways in New Mexico for the motoring public by assuming a leadership role and providing coordination of accident reduction initiatives.
  • Emergency preparedness.

We concentrate our efforts in the counties we serve: Santa Fe, San Miguel, Los Alamos and Sandoval. In San Miguel County we have assumed the responsibility for municipal law enforcement for the Village of Pecos. This is a new level of law enforcement for our department and we feel honored to be involved.

The communities surrounding Santa Fe are growing and the challenge of providing law enforcement is changing as well.

The Santa Fe area attracts many tourists because of its history, culture, and natural resources. It’s also the capitol of New Mexico and home to the headquarters of most state government agencies. We encourage you to pay us a visit and if we can be of service to you, please let us know.
