Out of state applicants should complete the NMSP Application. Applicants will be required to travel to Santa Fe, NM on two occasions to test. To minimize your trips to New Mexico, a test date will not be set until you application is received, reviewed and approved by the Recruiting Section.
On your first trip to Santa Fe, NM, you will perform the physical fitness, written, and polygraph examinations. This will be done at the Law Enforcement Academy in Santa Fe, NM, within a two-day time frame.
The second trip to Santa Fe, NM, you will be required to pass an oral interview, Chief’s selection, psychological evaluation, and a medical examination. This will be scheduled at the convenience of the applicant.
You will be required to pay for and make your own travel and lodging arrangements. There will not be a fee to go through the selection process.
